Your Privacy Is Sacred to Us

At the Catholic Foundation of Southern Minnesota, we believe that stewardship extends beyond financial gifts—it includes the respectful and secure handling of your personal information.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our donors, partners, and community members. Any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) you share with us—such as your name, contact details, or giving history—is safeguarded with the utmost care.

Here’s how we protect your data:

  • We never transmit PII via email. Instead, we use secure, access-controlled shared drives or databases to store and manage sensitive information.
  • We maintain a comprehensive cyber insurance policy to help ensure rapid response and protection in the unlikely event of a data breach.
  • Our staff is trained to handle your information responsibly, in accordance with both best practices and our Catholic values of dignity, trust, and transparency.

Your generosity is a gift to the Church and to the communities we serve. We honor that gift by protecting your privacy as faithfully as we protect your legacy.

Our formal PII policy is listed below for your visibility.

Catholic Foundation of Southern Minnesota - PII Protection Policy

As stewards of trust and mission, our Catholic foundation is committed to safeguarding the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of our donors, staff, partners, and community members. We recognize that protecting sensitive data is both a moral responsibility and a practical necessity.

Our Commitment:

  • We handle all PII with care, confidentiality, and integrity, in alignment with Catholic social teaching and best practices in data stewardship.
  • We maintain a cyber insurance policy to help mitigate risks and ensure rapid response in the event of a data breach or cyber incident.
  • We prohibit the transmission of PII via email. Instead, all PII must be shared and stored exclusively through secure, access-controlled shared drives approved by our Foundation.

Examples of PII include: names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, financial information, and any data that can identify an individual.

Staff Responsibility:

  • All team members are expected to follow this policy and report any concerns or violations to the Executive Director or designated data protection officer.
  • Regular training and reviews will be conducted to ensure compliance and awareness.

By upholding this policy, we affirm our commitment to transparency, accountability, and the dignity of every person we serve.
