About the Role

The Catholic Foundation of Southern Minnesota is seeking a mission-driven Planned Giving Advisor to support our seasonal outreach efforts to parishes, schools, and cemeteries across southern MN within the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. This flexible, part-time contract role is ideal for someone with strong interpersonal skills and a heart for service—no prior experience in planned giving is required.

The advisor will help coordinate and facilitate planned giving seminars, working closely with local Catholic parishes and professional partners to promote legacy stewardship rooted in faith.

Position Details

  • Contract Duration: November 2025 through May 2026
  • Hours: 12–18 hours per week (negotiable)
  • Schedule: Flexible, with availability required on evenings and weekends to accommodate parish schedules
  • Compensation: $25-32 per hour, commiserate to experience. Mileage reimbursement.
  • Benefits: None. 1099 Contract position.
  • Location: Remote with travel to local parishes, schools, and cemeteries for each Seminar

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Seminars:

    • Initiate phone and email outreach to parishes, schools, and cemeteries to schedule planned giving seminars
    • Once interest is secured, initiate phone and email outreach to local attorney and tax professional to collaborate on presentation
    • Manage logistics and calendar coordination with Church leaders and Foundation staff
    • Remind parishes, schools and cemeteries to promote the seminar in advance
  • Prepare Materials:

    • Edit and distribute promotional assets to each committed organization in advance - The Foundation marketing team will support in promotion asset creation; Planned giving advisor may need to customize assets to fit a specific date/time/location.
    • Manage printing and assembly of seminar materials in advance
  • Facilitate Seminar Presentations:

    • Create a welcoming and informative environment for attendees, including setting up light food & beverage 
    • Lead planned giving seminars using Foundation-provided handbooks and guides
    • Collaborate with local attorneys and tax advisors to support technical content
  • Track Impact and Improve:

    • Maintain and report to Executive Director basic records of attendance, engagement, and seminar outcomes
    • Monitor and report to Executive Director on budget and expenses related to seminar coordination
    • Surface recommendations to improve the process and seminars

Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Organized and proactive, with basic project management experience
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with Foundation staff and parish leaders
  • Familiarity with Catholic values and parish life
  • Willingness to travel locally and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
